The Felted Garden began with a chance encounter. Artist Elizabeth Rubidge - a self described "serial crafter" who revels in learning new techniques - was astonished by the beauty of a friend's felted wool scarf. A deep dive into fiber felting turned into a passion for how silk and wool can be shaped with water and patience. Inspired by a background in clothing design and a love of pattern and texture, her designs embrace organic and abstract influences with equal enthusiasm. Elizabeth has been bringing her Felted Garden to life for more than a decade in her studio in Connecticut.
